With so much information (and disinformation) out there, it’s hard to know just what you can do that will really help the environment. You can save money with the car you drive, you can save money on your household bills with insulation, but it is still the case that you have to spend money. So how about being paid by the Government for helping the environment out instead?
In April 2010 the Government introduced a new scheme, The Feed in Tariff Scheme or FiTS for short. What is FiTS all about? Well, it’s the Government’s attempt to meet its European targets on the provision of renewable energy. So how does that benefit you? It means you can make an excellent income from investing in solar energy (typically 8-12% per year) whilst doing your bit for the environment. Remember, four times more pollution comes from households than from cars.
